medial parvicellular part of the paraventricular nucleus

The term medial parvicellular part of the paraventricular nucleus refers to one of three parts of the paraventricular nucleus of the hypothalamus as identified by multiple criteria in the rat. The others are the anterior parvicellular part of the paraventricular nucleus and the periventricular parvicellular part of the paraventricular nucleus. Functionally they belong to the parvicellular neuroendocrine cell groups of the brainstem motor system ( Swanson-2004 ).
