association cortex
Acronym:
The term association cortex refers to areas of cerebral cortex defined on the basis of their connectivity. Most projections to and from association areas are cortico-cortical. Association cortex is found in parts of the frontal lobe, the parietal lobe, the temporal lobe and the occipital lobe ( Carpenter-1983 ).
