granular lamina of the cochlear nuclei
Acronym:
The term granular lamina of the cochlear nuclei refers to one of six subdivisions of the cochlear nuclei as identified by Nissl stain in the rat ( Swanson-2004 ) and the mouse ( Dong-2004 ). It is a thin layer of cells located between the dorsal cochlear nucleus and the posteroventral cochlear nucleus. The other divisions are the anteroventral cochlear nucleus and the interstitial nucleus of the auditory nerve ( Swanson-2004 ).
