sublaterodorsal nucleus

The term sublaterodorsal nucleus refers to a group of cells in the dorsal pons ventral to the laterodorsal tegmental nucleus and lateral to the medial longitudinal fasciculus of the pons of the rat ( Swanson-2004 ). It is located in an area that some authors refer to as a ventral part of the laterodorsal tegmental nucleus and/or the dorsal part of the subceruleus nucleus ( Paxinos-2009b ). Functionally it is part of the behavioral state system ( Swanson-2004 ).
