cerebrum
Acronym:

The term cerebrum refers to the largest of three components of the central nervous system (CNS) in the Functional CNS Model - Rat. It derives from the embryonic Telencephalon and for the most part represents the cellular components of the endbrain. The other components of the CNS are the cerebellum and the cerebrospinal trunk. Historically the term cerebrum has had several definitions ranging from equivalence to the term " brain ", to the sum of the left cerebral hemisphere and right cerebral hemisphere, to a composite structure consisting of the cerebral cortex and adjacent cerebral white matter. A thorough discussion of the definitional history is to be found in Anthoney-1994.
