cerebral nuclei

The term cerebral nuclei refers to one of three components of the cerebrum. It is a composite structure of the endbrain defined on the basis of origin from the ventricular ridge of the embryonic Encephalon. It consists of the extended striatum and the extended pallidum. The other components of the cerebrum are the cerebral cortex and the cortical subplate nuclei ( Swanson-2004 ).
