fornix system

The term fornix system refers to a composite structure in the rat central nervous system defined on the basis of connectivity and function ( Functional CNS Model ) by ( Swanson-2004 ). It includes the following structures: alveus, dorsal part of the fornix, fimbria, precommissural fornix, diagonal band, postcommissural fornix, commissure of the fornix, perforant path and angular bundle.
