Acronym: EBR
The term endbrain (EBR) refers to one of two components of the forebrain (FBR). Developed in the adult from the embryonic Telencephalon, it is the more rostral component. its most prominent cellular subdivisions are the cerebral cortex (CTX), the basal ganglia (BGL), the septum (SPT), and the basal forebrain (BFB). The more caudal component of the FBR is the interbrain (IBR) ( Carpenter-1983 ). The EBR is grossly equivalent to the cerebrum of the Functional CNS Model - Rat of brain structure ( Swanson-2004 ). It is found in the human, macaque, rat, and mouse ( NeuroNames ). Updated 19 Dec 2024.
