The term area 22a alpha of Vogts refers to one of three parts of area 22a of Vogts distinguished on the basis of cytoarchitecture and myeloarchitecture in the guenon. It differs from area 22a beta of Vogts and area 22a gamma of Vogts in that layer III is narrowest here ( Vogts-1919 ).
