area 2 of Vogts
Acronym: 2
The term area 2 of Vogts refers to an area of the cerebral cortex defined on the basis of myeloarchitecture and cytoarchitecture in the guenon. The authors regarded it as the same as area 2 of Brodmann (guenon) ( Vogts-1919 ). Authors von Bonin and Bailey disputed the existence of area 2, which they sought unsuccessfully to identify in the macaque as area PD of Bonin ( Bonin-1947 ).
