The authors of this book attempt to identify and explain those aspects of medical neuroscience that are essential for understanding the neurologic symptoms commonly encountered by physicians. In addition to describing the basic anatomic and physiologic principles of the nervous system, the authors have emphasized the clinical relevance of these concepts. As such, this book is not a comprehensive neuroscience textbook but rather a supplemental text that some students may wish to use to review for the board examinations. It has been written with the first- and second-year medical student in mind, but the presentation is within reach of students and professionals in allied health fields.
