The term corticoamygdalar transition area refers to a transitional zone between the piriform area and the the cortical amygdalar nucleus identified as a separate structure by some anatomists in the human ( Mai-1997 ), the rat ( Paxinos-2009b )and the mouse ( Franklin-2008; Hof-2000 ).
