The term cerebellar fissures refers to surface indentations of the cerebellum. They include the primary fissure of the cerebellum, which separates the anterior lobe of the cerebellum from the posterior lobe of the cerebellum; the posterior superior fissure, the horizontal fissure of the cerebellum and the prepyramidal fissure of the posterior lobe; and the posterolateral fissure, which separates the posterior lobe of the cerebellum from the flocculonodular lobe ( Carpenter-1983 ).
