accessory olfactory bulb
Acronym:
The term accessory olfactory bulb refers to a part of the olfactory bulb that receives input from the vomeronasal organ via the vomeronasal nerve. It has not been demonstrated in the human beyond the fetal stage of development ( Crosby-1962; Moran-1995 ). It is found in the rat ( Swanson-2004 ) and the mouse ( Dong-2004 ).
