medial lemniscus

The term medial lemniscus refers to a composite structure containing the fiber tracts that project from the cuneate nucleus of the medulla and the gracile nucleus to the ventral posterior nucleus of the thalamus ( Carpenter-1983 ). In NeuroNames it consists of the medial lemniscus of the midbrain, the medial lemniscus of the pons and the medial lemniscus of the medulla.
