The term uncinate gyrus refers to a substructure of the anterior-most part of the parahippocampal gyrus. Its surface and the surfaces of the remaining anterior-most parts of the parahippocampal gyrus and the hippocampal formation comprise the uncus of the temporal lobe ( Crosby-1962 ).
