The term falciform fold (human) refers to a substructure of the human insula. It is located at the rostral extreme of the insula. Overlapping the accessory short gyrus (human) and the anterior accessory gyrus (human), it may be equivalent to those structures ( Mufson-1990; Mufson personal communication ).
