mesocortex
Acronym:
The term mesocortex is a cytoarchitecturally defined subdivision of the cerebral cortex that is transitional between neocortex and allocortex ( Mesulam-1984 ). In the terminology of ( Stephan-1975 ) it is a composite of proisocortex, which is a subdivision of neocortex, and periallocortex. See also: paralimbic regions.
