The term anterior group of the dorsal thalamus refers to a set of substructures of the thalamus grouped on the basis of connectivity and function ( Swanson-2004 ). It includes the nuclei of the anterior nuclear group and the lateral dorsal nucleus of the classical model. It belongs to the polymodal association thalamus in the Functional CNS Model - Rat (see Models Where It Appears below).
