area 6 of Vogts
Acronym: 6
The term area 6 of Vogts refers to a subdivision of the frontal lobe of the guenon; it is defined on the basis of cytoarchitecture and myeloarchitecture. The Vogts regarded it as topologically homologous to the cytoarchitectonic area 6 of Brodmann (guenon). They divided it into two divisions, area 6a of Vogts and area 6b of Vogts, each of which was further subdivided into an alpha and a beta subdivision ( Vogts-1919 ).
